Patel Engineering wins $238m infrastructure bids in India


Patel Engineering, an Indian infrastructure and construction services company, has been announced as the lowest bidder for two significant infrastructure projects in India, with a combined value of Rs20.36bn ($238m).

In a company filing, Patel Engineering stated that it has secured an urban infrastructure project from the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra valued at Rs13.18bn.

The project’s focus is on the construction of the Kondhane Dam located in Raigad district, Maharashtra, and will see the utilisation of roller compacted concrete (RCC) technology.

This project includes civil, hydromechanical, and electrical works and is expected to reach completion within 42 months.

Situated in Kondhane village, Karjat Taluka, the dam will extend 1,209m in length and achieve a height of 83m.

The scope of work further encompasses the installation of three radial gates, along with both electrical and manual gate control systems, in addition to other related electrification tasks.

Patel Engineering has been confirmed as the lowest bidder for a hydropower project by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation, valued at Rs7.18bn (including tax).

This project entails the development of the 240MW HEO hydroelectric project located in the Shi Yomi district of Arunachal Pradesh and is anticipated to be completed in 44 months.

The project’s scope includes the construction of civil infrastructure, hydromechanical plant and machinery, as well as the testing and commissioning of all generating units.

Patel Engineering managing director Kavita Shirvaikar said: “The hydropower project reflects our strong capabilities in this sector and our commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy goals. The urban infrastructure project represents another step forward in improving the livability and resilience of our cities.”
