As my colleague Nick Arama wrote, the keynote remarks at the close of the first day were by President Joe Biden, who “by God” did his best to get through a shouty and scattered farewell to his party.

But just as old Joe was winding up his remarks, Trump made his move on his Truth Social account, dropping an update he got tonight from Team Harris about the presidential debate schedule.
Just to briefly review where we stand on presidential debates: Biden and Trump did one debate; Trump offered to do three debates with Vice President and now-Democrat nominee, Kamala Harris, one of which would be hosted by Fox News; Then, the two candidates agreed to a Sept. 10 debate on ABC.
Now, the former president says, Harris has officially run away from the challenge of a Fox News debate:

I can’t say I blame Kamala, to be honest, after word got out a few days ago that none other than Harris nemesis from the 2020 Democrat primary debate debacle, former Aloha state representative Tulsi Gabbard, isn’t done haunting Harris; now, she’s helping the 2024 Republican presidential nominee prep for the debate. She would be best served to debate him as infrequently as humanly possible.
