Dow Slides 2,100 Points as S&P 500 Nears Bear Market Territory


The stock market selloff accelerated in Friday afternoon trading.

The Dow was down 2,131 points, or 5.3%, in Friday afternoon trading. The S&P 500 sank 5.8%. The Nasdaq Composite was down 5.7%.

Only two stocks in the Dow were up: Nike was up 4% after the stock fell sharply on Thursday, and Home Depot was up 0.1% as home stocks reacted to a pullback in the 10-year Treasury yield.
