Jordon Hudson, the 24-year-old girlfriend of Bill Belichick, responded after it was announced Belichick, 72, has agreed to be the new head football coach at the University of North Carolina
“We are onto Chapel Hill!!!” Hudson posted via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, December 11.
Belichick signed a five-year contract to coach the Tar Heels on Wednesday, the school announced. The deal was approved in an emergency meeting of the university’s board of trustees on Thursday, December 12.
According to The Athletic, Belichick’s contract earns him $10 million per season.

“I am excited for the opportunity at UNC-Chapel Hill,” Belichick said in a statement. “I grew up around college football with my dad and treasured those times. I have always wanted to coach in college and now I look forward to building the football program in Chapel Hill.”
Belichick’s father, Steve, was an assistant coach at North Carolina from 1953 to 1955.

Roberts said. “Carolina is committed to excellence and to creating an opportunity to succeed in everything we do, from the classroom to the field of competition. I know after speaking with Coach Belichick that he shares that commitment. His legacy speaks for itself, and we look forward to working together on the next chapter of Carolina football.”
Belichick won six Super Bowls as head coach of the New England Patriots from 2000 to 2023, becoming the second-winningest head coach in NFL history in the process. He and the Patriots mutually decided to part ways in January 2023 after two consecutive losing seasons.
Tom Brady, Belichick’s quarterback in New England for all six Super Bowl titles, reacted enthusiastically to Belichick heading back to college.
“Congrats Coach,” Brady, 47, posted via his Instagram Story on Wednesday. “The Tar Heel way is about to become a thing 💯.”
As for Belichick’s relationship with Hudson, the pair met in 2021 while seated next to each other on an airplane when Hudson was still in college.

The couple made their red carpet debut on December 5, posing together at the American Museum of Natural History’s 2024 Museum Gala in New York City.
Hudson, a former cheerleader at Bridgewater State University, has routinely shared glimpses into their life together via Instagram.
In a series of holiday-themed photos posted via December 9, Belichick can be seen posing with Hudson at the Nantucket Christmas Stroll, an annual event held in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
“Lost my Stroll-ginity this weekend 🍒🎄🤪,” Hudson captioned the post, which featured a photo of Belichick wearing a University of Connecticut sweatshirt.
