S&P 500, Nasdaq Turn Green in Volatile Trading. Wall Street Is Buying Riskier Stocks.

The stock market turned positive again as a bumpy day of trading unfolded.

The Nasdaq Composite was up 1%. The S&P 500 was up 0.6% despite a majority of its members’ stocks trading lower. Like the Nasdaq, it was being helped by some dip-buying in riskier stocks like Super Micro Computer.

The Invesco S&P 500 High Beta ETF, which includes the riskiest S&P 500 stocks, was up 2.1%. The Invesco S&P 500 Low Volatility ETF was down 1.2%.
