While we cover a lot of celebrities wearing controversial airport shoes here on Who What Wear, we also like to give our thoughts on what shoes you should wear for travel. Here, we’re focusing on the latter. Fall 2024 has a great many shoe trends in store, but not all of them are travel-friendly.
So what makes a travel-friendly shoe, you ask? There are several factors—aside from being stylish—the most important being that they’re either flat or have a low, walkable heel, they’re made of sturdy materials (sorry, satin), they’re comfortable (which is separate from just being flat or low-heeled), and they’re versatile enough to work with a multitude of outfits. I pinpointed several different F/W 24 shoe trends that check these boxes and found specific pairs that I, for one, would love to pack in my suitcase this fall. Keep scrolling to shop them for your own future fall trips.
Boat Shoes
The boat shoe trend has been on the rise throughout the year (thanks to Miu Miu), and now that sandals are being put into storage, I imagine the trend will become even more mainstream. Boat shoes, typically made of soft leather or suede, are wildly comfortable.
